🦝 Raccoon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon procyon) – Rare & Eye-Catching South American Tetra
The Raccoon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon procyon) is a rare and striking species of tetra, named for the distinctive dark mask-like marking across its eyes, resembling a raccoon. With a shimmering silver body, subtle golden tones, and a bold stripe, this tetra adds unique charm and personality to community aquariums. 🌿🐠
Native to South American river systems, including areas of the Amazon, Raccoon Tetras thrive in planted aquariums with plenty of swimming space and soft, slightly acidic water.
